General Assembly

General Assembly is an ed tech company offering in-person and virtual classes in coding, product management, design, and data science. As an early employee, I had the opportunity to contribute to a range of web and digital products. Early on, I co-led the design of their e-commerce site and a custom CMS, then went on to lead design for online education where I helped launched a successful subscription product for on-demand video courses, then an online education platform for running hybrid in-person and online courses that merged video, interactive quizzes, coding exercises, and live synchronous sessions. The courses we launched on it held an 80% completion rate, far above the norm for long-form online learning. That growth helped build the company into the business it became, leading up to its eventual acquisition.
